Hello readers. I am posting this blog because I will be writing an on-going story regarding the Mayor's Office of San Francisco California. There was a deal cut with Comcast that people only heard about after the deal was done. This deal allows Comcast 4 more years to renegotiate their contract with the City of San Francisco. And in return for this extension Comcast will pay 3.5 million dollars into the City's Coffers and 1.5 million dollars into the City's Telecommunication budget.

I thought that the contract negotiations were to happen at the end of the year and that the Board of Supervisors were to decide the contract. Yet the Mayors Office has put off the negotiations and no one was told. So I used my rights as a citizen to enact a “Sunshine Request”. This is like the “Freedom Of Information Act”. So I present this document to the Mayors Office and I am told by the receptionist that “I can not give you that information”. I gave the Mayor's Office 24 hours to produce that information and still have not received any. Check out the link for more information regarding “Sunshine Request”.

I have gone to the Clerks Office at City Hall and submitted a complaint against the Mayor's Office for not turning over the documents requested. I want all information involved in this deal; phone records, memos, letters, contracts, phone numbers, names involved, and anything other information in this issue. I would like to know and share with you, my readers just how this “deal” was made and why this “deal” was made.

I hope you continue to check up on this. Just check back with San Francisco My Way!
