Hardily Strictly Bluegrass Festival
Yee haw, it was an absolutely fantastic afternoon in Golden Gate Park at the 5th Annual “Hardily Strictly Bluegrass Festival”, held October 1st and 2nd at the Speedway Meadow. Thousands of country lovers were at the free festival, and of course the Underground Concierge was there in the V.I.P. Section munching on free Chili and corn bread and throwing back the free water provided. The day was slightly overcast and there a bet more than a breeze blowin, yet that did not deter the Underground Concierge from getting that one shot of the festivals star.
Now there were headliners like Earl Scruggs, Joan Baez, Rodney Crowell, Ricky Scaggs, Emmylou Harris, and Rosanne Cash yet the top of line, real country star of all stars Dolly Parton was there. And she was beyond fantastic. I got a few backstage photographs and Ms. Parton started her set. She came out with “9 to 5”, and began to sing “Joelene” when the microphone went out. Yet the true superstar that she is, she kept on singing. The experience was just amazing and the crowds where huge. So once again, the Underground Concierge brings to you, “a little bit of country, from the City that Rocks and Rolls!” Thanks for reading.
